Overview
My role is reviewing companies records for the Financial Crime team and analysing whether the review's red flags are plausible for the specific customer and to investigate/escalate these further if there is no further explanation.
Skills
Yes I have learnt a lot of analytical and critical thinking skills as these are essential in my line of work to be able to efficiently work through cases. I have also gained a high level of organisational skills due to the amount of workload i have had to deal with, and also having a number of cases on the go at one time, up to 20 cases in one time at one point.
Responsibilities
Yes, was treated no different at all compared to other associates, most people did not even realise I was a placement student until recently! So it is definitely good in the sense that you have a lot of responsibility and don't feel looked down upon.
Support & Guidance
We were contracted out to a different company so all support and guidance was given by them, with PwC working to improve this guidance etc. so was good to be involved in that.
Culture
It is a great company to work in in terms of the people, everyone is so lovely and welcoming and want you to feel settled in. I think it would have been a completely different experience though if we were allowed into the office, missed out on a lot because of that.
Your Impressions
i really enjoyed it. Felt challenged throughout the whole placement however had different lines of people that I could get support from, and everyone is more than happy to help.
Yes
Show you are an outgoing person, eager to learn different skills and to also learn from different people, I think they really value that.
