Overview
No 2 days are the same. Everyday I mix with people from all over the world on a range of tasks. Sometimes this is more mundane such as excel tasks but other times it is pioneering work that hasnt been done before in Unilever or by any other company globally. HR is super varied and especially in such a large company such as Unilever.
Skills
I've developed so many of my existing skills both technical such as Excel and Powerpoint but also personal skills such as diplomacy, confidence, public speaking/presenting, stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
YES! So much responsibility and from the start, whilst this seemed daunting to start with it was a great experience. I've taken a few projects from conception all the way to delivery which is a really exciting thing to be able to say as an intern in such a large corporation such as Unilever. Also given responsibility in terms of taking charge of personal development with new projects outside usual role.
Support & Guidance
Plenty! Never felt alone, my LM was a great support with any question no matter how big or small. Peers/other interns were great connections to make as having similar experiences and often similar issues! Making connections with colleagues, people were so happy to help no matter how big or small the question was.
Culture
energising fast paced focus on wellbeing progressive inclusive
Your Impressions
I had a great year! Considering I completed it virtually from my spare room at home and never met my team or even saw an office! Learnt so many things and met so many people I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Yes
Be ready to learn! Be ready for fast paced, dynamic, agile working but also for a good laugh and to meet some really cool people.
