Overview
Sending weekly recruitment reports to regional and global stakeholders. Assisting the marketing team by providing up-to-date statistics and contact lists to target new and current applicants. Working on BI dashboards. Keeping on top of ad-hoc data reporting requests.
Skills
Learnt how to use Power BI and write with the DAX language. Developed my Excel knowledge through daily tasks and the initial training period. Learnt how to manage by time well to meet deadlines. I was able to develop my problem solving and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
Given a lot of responsibility! There is always something to do. From the weekly reports to the more ad-hoc requests. As the global recruitment data analyst, stakeholders from all across the business will reach out with tasks and requests. In the role, you are able to work closely with other departments - particularly Diversity and Inclusion, Marketing, Recruitment + University Partnerships and Sales.
Support & Guidance
A full 4 week training period compromised of Professional Skills, Excel, SQL and Power BI. In addition, a three day handover with the current placement student. There was also regular Learning & Development training sessions scheduled which was an opportunity to also meet employees across the business. At the start of the placement, a weekly catch-up was scheduled in with my line manager to go over any projects, questions or concerns.
Culture
Sociable and friendly. Though sometimes it's easy to feel intimidated being a young employee with a lack of experience in the world of work. This was made harder by half of the placement being remote.
Your Impressions
Really enjoyed learning more about the business and tech industries. I feel as though I gained a large understanding of the business. The group of placement students were all really nice and we were able to interact a lot. Due to there being a high level of responsibilities, at times I struggled to manage my time to meet deadlines.
