Overview
Internal Communications for a larger team covering all of EMEA. I support the UK Country Leader and the Technology LOB writing, producing, and distributing communications in a variety of media.
Skills
Communication and writen skills, confidence
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility as I was working in a small team - I was involved with lots of projects and was leading a few of these. All my tasks carry a lot of responsibility as I produce comms for stakeholders.
Support & Guidance
There are lots fo avenues for support - being virtual made this slightly harder to get sometimes
Culture
Being virtual made it difficult to get a full idea of the culture. But I got involved with the corporate citizenship community and some of the ERG's which was an amazing opportunity to meet people.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement, and have learnt a great deal. Being virtual was challenging but I was supported and had some amazing colleagues around me. Oracle really value their interns which is an amazing experience as you get treated as one of the full-time employees. there are also lots of opportunities for growth and development
Yes
Be yourself and do not worry if you do not understand what the company do (most people at oracle don't understand what they sell) - you will learn all this as you go along
