Skills
develop skillsets as well as myself personally. I feel like I’ve matured – with this being my first experience in the professional world, it’s allowed me to develop skills such as communication when writing emails and interacting with colleagues in different parts of the world and to keep organised especially when working from home and there’s nobody to look over your shoulder to check on you all the time.
Responsibilities
I was responsible for creating work instructions for various processes. I was also involved in creating a training pack to improve a process that I noticed some flaws in whilst working. I was responsible for managing a testing management sheet to keep track and organise testing schedules for a team of 4 people.
Support & Guidance
I received enough support throughout my placement. It was just the right amount and correct balance between knowing my tasks and projects I was involved in but also allowed me to have some freedom and use initiative in order to get tasks done in a way that worked best for me. However, if I ever had an issue or question I had the support I needed to overcome these
Culture
The company culture is very inclusive and determined. The company wants everyone to achieve their maximum potential whilst also focusing on achieve the maximum potential of the company as a whole. A lot of charity work and community involvement, every employee is encouraged to take part in a minimum of 4 hours a year community involvement. It's a diverse community with global teams but the culture is great to be apart of
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year. I worked from home through the entirety of my placement year which was difficult at first to learn certain processes and applications. However I quickly got the hang of things and enjoyed all the work I had to do and the projects that I was involved in.
