Overview
I support the team in their marketing plans for both upcoming TV and Family Entertainment releases and past shows in the TV catalogue. I help with keeping schedules up to date, working with the digital team to keep the website refreshed, raising purchase orders and just generally supporting the team as required.
Skills
I have learnt lots of new skills in this role as well as having opportunities to develop my existing skills. From simply working in a professional environment (e.g. skills like email and meeting etiquette) to understanding systems I have never previously used (e.g. SAP to help with budget management and raising purchase orders) I feel I have learnt a lot during my time here.
Responsibilities
I have been given lots of responsibility throughout my placement (although never too much that it was overwhelming!) and have steadily increased my workload over the year as I grew more confident and comfortable in my role.
Support & Guidance
I never felt afraid to ask questions or seek advice from any of my team and have generally felt very well supported throughout! I have a weekly one-to-one with my manager which is a great chance to have any questions answered or share any concerns. As a team we also chat daily and keep in regular contact so there is plenty of opportunity for help and guidance if needed.
Culture
Due to Covid I was working remotely so never experienced the general office atmosphere, however the company culture was very friendly and positive.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my placement year, despite working from home so not getting the full experience of office life. I have been very lucky with my team and have found it really fun working with such great TV content. I think the skills I have developed and overall experience here will be invaluable in future.
Yes
It sounds cringy but to be yourself throughout the application process! They really do just want to see your personality, work ethic and passion for the industry so they can evaluate how you would fit into the wider team.
