Overview
My role consists of supporting the GBS Associate Management team and delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly reports, data packs, ad hock support and maintenance of data for EU reporting.
Skills
I've developed both hard and soft skills - deepening my understanding of tech, excel, collaboration, time-management and more. IBM truly offers a diverse learning experience - both within your role but also in any other area you're curious or interested in!
Responsibilities
My role was hugely autonomous - but at the same time key for a long list of stakeholders. I was exposed to people from across the business, both internally within the UK but also to teams in EU and Global. My tasks, although at times repetitive, added true value to my team and those around me.
Support & Guidance
I had to deal with quite a lot of personal challenges throughout the year (family, medical, etc) - and IBM truly amazed me with the level of support I received, not just from those immediately around me but you could tell your co-workers really cared and always put health (be it physical or mental) first!
Culture
IBM is a huge company, but they truly know how to take care of their own. You have international and local societies/ Business Resource Groups/Communities across the business that you can join - everything from Sustainability, Wellbeing, Events, BAME, Diversity & Inclusion, HowTo communities, People with Diverse Abilities, Women in Tech and more!
Your Impressions
IBM went well and above my expectations for my Placement Year, I truly loved every minute of it (although my biggest regret is not ever making it into the office due to the pandemic).
Yes
Be yourself! IBM hires across a range of degrees, areas of interests and backgrounds. Show your true self and your passion for joining the company!
