Overview
Supporting the Top 4 retail partnerships across Softlines marketing. This includes liaising with the brand marketing teams to deliver marketing materials for upcoming campaigns and secure future campaigns. The role involves delivering pitch decks, campaign ideation and marketing materials, as well as briefing internal and external agencies to support.
Skills
My presentation skills have significantly improved. I completed presentation both internally and externally most weeks, this allowed me to develop my style of presenting. My confidence has also increased, both professionally and personally. In addition my communication has improved, not only in meetings but also across email.
Responsibilities
Yes, as an intern you have huge responsbility at Disney. Towards the end of my placement I was leading on campaigns and taking on high priority projects. Your skills develop so much over your time at Disney so you feel comfortable to take on more responsibility as you progress.
Support & Guidance
I received so much support from the wider team, I never felt alone even though I was working from home. My manager was always able to help me and there are resources you can use to.
Culture
I worked from home this year because of Covid 19, therefore I was unable to experience was the culture was like in the office. However, over zoom the team is so welcoming and fun to be around. They really welcome the interns and value their opinions.
Your Impressions
I learnt so much over the 9 months at Disney, all the knowledge I have learnt I can apply to my final year at University but also jobs in the future. I have loved working here and made so many new friends too. It has been the most valuable experience which I have enjoyed doing.
Yes
You will develop so much over your time at Disney, not only professionally but also on a more personal level. Although the work can be hard and intense at times, it is always worth it. My advice would be to make the most out of your year at Disney and get involved with as many projects as possible.
