Overview
My job role varies depending on the time of the year and the projects that the team are supporting at the time- no day is ever the same. I am involved in weekly forecasting calls as well as pull a report daily to support the operational side of the business. I have also been involved in multiple projects across the business ranging from purpose topics to the more sales/operational based projects which has given me great exposure across the business.
Skills
Yes, my presentation skills have come on massively, as well as ability to use systems and developed my communication skills understanding the way to communicate in a business and how to construct documents/emails.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility in my role. I ran a careers fair from the SAP side virtually on my own being trusted to co-ordinate speakers, presentations and ensure that everyone was able to attend. This was a really great opportunity and from there I felt more confident and was able to go on and do lots more with in my placement.
Support & Guidance
I have received a lot of support throughout my placement. The team I am in have been really supportive and my manager really helped to focus on my personal development and helping me achieve what I wanted from my placement year. They are also very accommodating for personal circumstances and everyone in the business wants to help you in any way they can.
Culture
From a virtual view the company culture is really inclusive but also fast paced. No day is the same and there are constantly new thing's happening in the business making it a really exciting organisation to be a part of. There is also a real emphasis on supporting young talent, making them feel included but also listening to their views.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my placement experience. I have really grown into a more confident individual and have loved being a part of a new team learning more than I ever could have expected before I arrived on my placement. A really good experience over all.
Yes
Make sure to be yourself! That is the most important part when going to any business. Enjoy the process and make sure you know a bit about the business before you apply.
