The Role
I met some really lovely people and the organisation is amazing to work for.
Very valued, your not treated like an intern to run around with coffee and lunch orders, nor are you given meaningless jobs to do.Your made welcome as part of the team and the work given is important to the organisation.
Alot of support and guidance and alot of responsibility as an intern which made you feel important
quite busy the tasks given took up most of the day but they werent monotomus .
A lot of responsibility was put incharge of a lot of mini projects
I was successfully able to demonstrate I have transferable skills, all the skills I used gained in my science degree I could tranfer them over to a non science background, very easily. I still have to develop my skills abit further but I have learnt alot about myself,
The Company
Friendly and very welcoming
It was very well organised in terms of the team structure and the whole internship programme too.
I wish it could invest a bit more on personal development.
National Travel
Not sure, go myself another internship placement within the science department of cancer research uk. fingers crossed
The Culture
Ok, I dont drink so the main socialising happened in the pub which was where 99% of the socialising events happened. so i missed out on that part, so i never got the chance to really know that many interns. but within the organisation intern events such as race for life, de-branding cigarette packets, the handmade mothers card making event and tmax give up clothes for good campaign allowed me to work with different interns which was fun.
travel and food is covered by cancer research in the internship so it wasnt that bad but food is generally expensive around islington, socialising there alot of pubs here so if you drink you wont have a problem, theres also a cinema and shopping mall/
havent got a clue as i dont go clubbing
quite a few london marathon, shine walk marathon at night race for life events
