Overview
Creating in-store guidelines/planograms for our brand ambassadors to follow. Liaising with suppliers on any activations/launches we have coming up to create point of sale units. Assisting my manager and the trade activation manager with management of our gifts with purchases for our retailers both online/offline, as well as our DTC site.
Skills
I have become a lot more proficient in excel, as well as learning to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. My networking skills have improved massively and I have even had multiples opportunities to present across the wider team. Additionally, I learned how to conduct, analyse and present an ROI analysis!
Responsibilities
Yes, you are not someone who just get's coffee! You are thrown in at the deep end and you manage and self own your individual projects which is incredibly rewarding in the end! You are given masses of responsibility.
Support & Guidance
I was given a huge amount of support from my line manager, wider team , everyone goes above and beyond to assist and answer your queries, you are never seen as a burden.
Culture
Throughout my placement I was able to take part in L'Oréal's annual Citizen day where I enrolled in the innovation in education programme where I helped A level students with CV & interview skills, it was great to give back to the local community. As well L'Oréal has a plethora of committees like the Ethnicity and Multi-cultural committee, social & intern committee. As my internship was half online it was hard to conduct any socials in person but I have made friends for life regardless of the circumstances.
Your Impressions
I absolutely LOVED my time at L'Oréal. I genuinely don't want to leave as it has been a life-changing experience for me. As mentioned previously doing an internship during a pandemic has been challenging but I would not have it any other way. I have adored working with my team and I am super proud to be associated with the company as we are making such a difference in the world of beauty. The whole experience has over-exceeded my expectations and I would recommend working for L'Oréal to anyone as the people make the company what it is. I hope when I graduate next year, I will be able to get a role and come back as it has been an absolute dream.
Yes
Be yourself and let your personality shine through! Think outside of the box with your ideas as they genuinely care and want to know how you think creatively :) Erase all your thoughts on what you think the beauty industry is going to be like, it's even better than what everyone think's it is like. The internship is what you make of it, put in what you want to get back and always make time for people, you will be thankful in the long run that you did!
