    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a Sales Operations Analyst for the Financial Services Sector within Enterprise UKI, I have worked directly under the VP of FSS and Director of Banking and Insurance. Within the Financial Services Industry, I provide operational support to the Directors and my team of 22 Client Executives who cover over 100 clients within the Finance and Insurance territory.

  • I have learned many new skills from technical skills and upskilling to learn coding and IBM technical tools such as IBM Watson assistant. I have also built my interpersonal and professional skills by learning how to work in a professional work environment. I have also learnt the fundamentals of consulting where I know I want to pursue a career in.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given many responsibilities, far greater than expected when I joined. I have been a crucial member for many RFP's, projects and responsible for tracking many key deals and a large amount of pipeline. Within my team I have been put on many client projects and had direct client exposure.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Within two managers (a task manager who is responsible for my day-to-day tasks) and a foundation manager (who is responsible for our welfare and HR needs) there is a variety of support from many different people. There is a large amount of support.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Generally there has been a great atmosphere within IBM. Despite being virtual I have felt part of the team and have even been able to meet up with the team. This has really helped me to fit in. One of the best things about IBM is that everyone Is approachable, friendly and easy to talk to therefore you can reach out to anyone.

  • Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement, and I would love the opportunity to return. I have learned many crucial skills about the world of work and grown my professional skills immensely. The internship has exceeded my expectations and as a result I extended.
