    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My day-to-day varies hugely depending on the queries that arise. A usual day will involve trying to close business, and supporting deals to get signed. This is done by using the customer relationship management tool 'Salesforce'. Many of the activities will be to support the customer relationship whether this be through writing a client newsletter, or having meetings with commercial managers to understand where projects need amending to fit the customer requirement.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed a huge amount of confidence, as well as time management skills and communication skills. These are all absolutely essential to the role as the day is very busy and you have to keep up with an array of back to back meetings, often talking with people you may not have come across before, where confidence and communication prove important.

  • Yes I was given responsibility. I think this is when I was able to learn the most as you are thrown in the deep end and expected to complete tasks to a high standard.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • My boss was very supportive throughout my entire internship. What I like about Atos, is that there is a very flat structure, it is not as hierarchical as some of the other roles my peers have landed in. This meant I was always able to air concerns and resolve issues whether these be personal or work related.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • One of the things I love the most about Atos is the company culture. They have a strong Diversity and Inclusion policy which creates a safe and inclusive environment for all employees. they also have lots of grassroots groups such as their Green Network, which is a group of like-minded people getting together to work on initiatives to reduce carbon emissions. This really feeds into Atos' corporate goal to have net-zero carbon emissions by 2028.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I found the placement very enjoyable, but more than that I found that it has been an invaluable experience for my career development but also my personal development. I can't recommend Atos highly enough.
