Overview
Mostly data analysis using Power BI - I have very few repetitive tasks to do, there is usually something new and interesting to do. I have spent a lot of time during my placement working from home due to COVID-19, which would restrict me to working from computer
Skills
Most notably: I have greatly developed my IT skills, improved my understanding of the machinery, learnt about management roles and what they involve, and improved my ability to communicate professionally.
Responsibilities
Yes, I have set up the documents that we now use for data collection, I've been exposed to people throughout the business at many levels, and I am given almost complete autonomy.
Support & Guidance
I would almost always start by trying to figure out the best solution to a problem myself, if I got stuck my team would always be happy to help and support me. You are encouraged to try and figure things out yourself before asking for help, which I think is a good thing, as it means you learn new skills, enabling you to solve these problems in the future.
Culture
The company culture is quite relaxed with a friendly atmosphere, with an emphasis on inclusion.

I have enjoyed my Placement at Cummins, despite the additional challenges posed by the pandemic.
