Overview
Talent Marketing sits within Talent Acquisition in HR. I work with internal and external clients within an EMEA team, running campaigns to increase brand awareness, attract top talent, and deliver the best candidate experience. I deliver social media campaigns, host events, and create digital assets. I am the lead contact for 8 external suppliers to promote the IBM brand to UK Early Professionals and have interviewed IBMers globally to craft sell messaging for roles ranging from EPH to Execs.
Skills
I've learnt how to use the Adobe Creative Cloud softwares, especially Photoshop and Premiere Pro. I've learnt how to use various other tools such as an virtual events platform called Brazen and job posting platforms. I've been able to develop my communication skills a lot and gained a lot of confidence in my ideas
Responsibilities
I was given a lot more responsibility than I expected and was pleasantly surprised. Seeing as IBM is such a large company, I didn't expect to be able to run with my ideas and have a level of independence which I did have
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support throughout the year. I had two task managers, a Foundation manager and our EMEA team lead as I was in the EMEA Talent Marketing team
Culture
I loved the culture and atmosphere, it felt like a start up but with over 350,000 employees!
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement, I've developed so many skills and networked with some amazing people. All the skills that I've gained will be so useful and transferable in my next career journey
Yes
Do your research as it really shows in an interview if you haven't. Find parts of the company that interest you - IBM are truly everywhere so there will definitely be something!
