Overview
The role is made up of regular coverage reporting both weekly and monthly, in addition to asset management and general supporting of the wider PR Team and agencies, through admin based tasks. Making sure press samples are ordered from the warehouse and supporting monthly in 'Measure influencer monitoring' to see largest influencers driving engagements and views.
Skills
I have learnt to be efficient with my time and have found the importance of organisation in order to stay on top of work load. Overall time management has been perfected and i am able to prioritise tasks in order of importance.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given lots of responsibilities and made to feel a really valuable member of the team. I was the owner of CeraVe UKI Instagram account and lead the monthly reporting, to share back with management.
Support & Guidance
I had a manager throughout my time, who supported me on all issues and questions - making the learning experience brilliant. I felt comfortable to discuss any issues with my manager and felt supported all the way through.
Culture
The culture within the division was much like a large family - everyone supported everyone (even cross functional) and the atmosphere was always supported, positive and rewarded all the hard work across the teams.
Your Impressions
I loved my placement year at Loreal, as I learnt so much about PR and Communications and how it works and is supported by other functions within the business. Having the industry exposure has supported my learning so much and have given me the confidence to explore my career path, with the interest of working within PR in the future.
Yes
I would say having a true passion to learn and understand the industry is key. Everything else within the role will then slots into place and you will understand the way a corporate company works. Also read about your job role and understand how the different functions support your function is also key.
