Overview
my role involves analysis of occurring problems in production and problem solving by proposing solutions and testing new or prototype parts to confirm they will have the desired result before they go into production
Skills
I have developed my existing skills in 3D CAD design as i had to use CATIA V5, which I did not use in university and also developed my communication skills as the team is quite large with a few people being involved in many projects
Responsibilities
As I spent more time with the team and became more confident with all the processes I was given more responsibilities by my manager and by the end of my placement I was considered an equal member of the team
Support & Guidance
For most of the tasks that i completed i had the help of an experienced coworker so i could ask anything i needed. Also, all the colleagues were helpful when i went to them for help for my personal projects and if they could not help me they would guide me to the person that could.
Culture
Everyone in the company is very friendly and helpful. My department is essentially one big team with the other 2 departments that we closely collaborate with and a lot of social events are organized between the 3 departments such as after work drinks but also team boding activities such as football games, countryside walks and other leisure activities.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement a lot. I got to meet a lot of people that are very good at their job and got to learn from the way they work so that i can evolve myself and be better in the industry that id like to work in the future. Also i got actual opportunities and responsibilities and was treated as an equal employee and not an intern.
Yes
for the interview / assessment centre i would advice you to not be nervous and be yourself at all times. Do not try and guess the things that they would want to hear from you. Prepare yourself well and make sure you talk about the things that you are good at and how this is connected to the role you applied for.
