Overview
My role has involved managing and supporting projects for a variety of different small-medium sized company's for the whole duration/ lifecycle. During these projects I have had to arrange calls, resolve any issues the customer has, coordinate these with the sales and technical teams, follow-up any actions after calls with customers and ensure they are completed in time for the next meeting. Overall I have been the main point of contact for customer projects. I have also carried out a few administrative tasks alongside my main role as a Customer Success Coordinator, the main one including contribution towards our ISO 9001 certification.
Skills
I have learnt many new skills during my year with Egress, including Excel skills. I have also improved my organisational and time management skills from having to consistently coordinate meetings and ensure my meeting minutes are accurate. I have also enhanced my team working skills, working with a variety of different individuals and teams at Egress. Finally, I have gained an understanding of the functions of Salesforce and how these can be used, as well as a broad understanding on the ISO 9001 certification and the aspects around auditing both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given a range of different responsibilities during my year with Egress, the biggest responsibility I was given included the responsibility to manage and coordinate customer projects. It was very important to ensure all customers needs and expectations were met throughout these projects, and all problems/ issues were resolved in a timely manner. I have also played a part in the ISO 9001 internal and external audit, as well as many other admin tasks, such as Workspace scheduling, Salesforce reporting and dashboards for the Project Management team.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of guidance and support from my line manager at Egress, not only during my 3-month reviews/ appraisals but also on a daily basis. I was constantly reassured by all members in my team that I was able to drop them a message whenever i was unsure or needed help.
Culture
Although my placement has been remote, the company culture has generally been very friendly. I have found the majority of people I have spoken with over zoom have been very helpful and all seem very happy and motivated. Most individuals within Egress seem to always be there to offer advice/ help you.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my year at Egress, and it has really opened my eyes to the real life business world. I feel I have had a broad range of responsibilities during this past year, as well as being exposed to changes in both business processes and departmental changes. Finally, I believe I have expanded, as well as developed my existing skills to take back with me to my final year at university. The company culture has lived up to it's expectations, and I have enjoyed working with all members in my team.
Yes
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, so try not to be nervous for your assessment centre day/ interview. Be yourself, but be confident and don't be afraid to put yourself out there.
