Overview
I spent two weeks at Clyde & Co on their summer vacation scheme, undertaking work within one of their corporate departments. We attended several workshops during the course of the vacation scheme and learned about the work within different departments, the growth strategy of the firm and their commitment to CSR. Work within the department involved a variety of tasks, ranging from drafting emails/letters, research, proof reading, attending client calls, and assisting with bundling.
Skills
New skills: drafting witness statements; emails; letters, proof reading, familiarised with legal jargon. Developed skills: research, teamwork, written and oral communication.
Business Insight
It was insightful learning about how Clyde & Co operate as a business. We had a talk on firm growth and strategy which was extremely interesting.
Culture
Clyde & Co's culture is what makes them unique. Every person that I spoke to during my two weeks on the vacation scheme, from trainees to partners, was genuinely lovely. It's very apparent that Clyde & Co is made up of friendly, supportive and diverse people.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my two weeks on the vacation scheme. I met some great people, I was exposed to some really interesting work and I was sad to leave at the end!
