    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working at SAP has been an incredible experience, even with the challenge of Covid-19 I have felt supported and cared for throughout. I always knew I had someone if I needed guidance or help. During this placement I have had the opportunity to work on amazing projects, lead my own digital events and manage huge marketing campaigns. In addition not only have I made some great connections but even some I would call good friends.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed in a variety of areas over this 13 month period. From being a project manager for one of the marketing programs I have learn't project management, liaising with foreign stakeholders and content creation. In addition to time management, data analysis and decision making, these are just a few of the skills I think I have gained while here at SAP.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • When I tell my friends and family the responsibility I have been given while on placement, they are always shocked. It is amazing that a company like SAP has the trust in it's interns to manage huge projects, giving us the freedom to fail and learn. Speaking from personal experience I was given the role of Project manager on a number of big marketing campaigns, I feel privileged to have got this experience so early on in my career.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I was only made to feel like there were no stupid questions and if I was ever stuck to reach out. This goes across SAP and I believe it to be the culture of this company, it is one of collaboration and guidance. You will always receive guidance and support when you ask for it.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture is one of collaboration. You always feel part of something bigger and you work with some amazing people. It is an open door policy here at SAP, where if you are ever stuck or need assistance people will put time aside for you to help.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my placement. From having such a big cohort of interns to working on huge projects. You are able to make friends and work on fulfilling tasks. Projects which you know have real impact at SAP. As well as the extra curricular opportunities like the UK Green team. These extra teams outside your main role allow you to network further into the company and develop new skills which you wouldn't normally be able to do with your main role.

  • 7. Would you recommend SAP to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to SAP
  • The best advice to give is be authentic. You will hear that a lot at SAP, but is it so true. They are looking to see the real you, not someone you think they want you to be. I was told this at the start of my placement and it has stuck with me. They will higher you for being yourself. Good luck!
