Overview
I manage communications for the region, which includes; designing email templates, creating content and supporting regional leaders. I also plan and organise the quarterly events for up to 500 people.
Skills
I developed my attention to detail, check, double check and check again! Knowing that hundreds of people would be reading and viewing my content put a lot of pressure on me which meant that I triple checked everything.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of creative freedom and encouraged to come up with my own ideas and think outside the box.
Support & Guidance
There was a month handover period between the existing and incoming Intern so I was provided with a lot of support. I was then introduced to a "buddy/mentor" and have a day to day manager as well as a line manager to go to when struggling.
Culture
The atmosphere is very supportive, you are encouraged to be yourself and be creative.
Your Impressions
I loved the people that I worked with, the team were so supportive, really encouraging yet still pushed me to develop my skills and gave me lots of opportunities.
Yes
Be your true authentic self, don't feel like you have to fit into a box and be open to new ideas and opportunities.
