Overview
The year I have had with SAP has been the most valuable experience I have had to date. I have been able to develop my professional skills and learn new business applications. I have to commend SAP with the way the dealt with maintaining the placement program during the Covid pandemic. We were able to maintain the level of responsibility we would have had if we were working in the office.
Skills
I have been able to develop my leadership skills by applying for extra projects separate to by job role. I was also able to learn how to develop an app walk through using adobe XD as well as learn how to configure clients expense system.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility throughout the placement year. I was responsible for updating clients expense system to ensure that it is automated to the clients specific needs, this often required me to talk to client every day.
Support & Guidance
I was given a lot of support during my placement year. we were given a "Buddy" that would guide us through the first month and would continually support us through out the year.
Culture
It was hard to get an understanding of culture at SAP for the first 9 months as we were working from home, However how that we are able to go into the office the culture at the company is very good. With leaders it is clear that they trust us to do our work and the interns all spend time with each other after work hours.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the extra projects that were available to us as we were able to work with different departments and people which gave me a better insight into the company and what the different departments were responsible for.
Yes
I would advise people to be them self's in interviews and be willing to speak and ask lots of questions. SAP look for people who are interested in there development.
