    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Preparation of content for Sales Directors and Channel team including forecasts, business reviews and ad-hoc sales analysis. Creation and maintenance of various reports used by the team that automatically track any pipeline movement, giving greater visibility into the pipeline. Deliver analysis used for creation of Deep Dive presentations and Quarterly Business Reviews.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have both learnt and developed a range of skills during my placement at SAP. Most notably, I have become more confident in my use of excel, using technical skills such as this daily in my role. I have also improved my presentation skills, frequently presenting reports to managers whilst also improving my analytical skills too, analyzing sales reports and data daily in my role.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • My main responsibility in my role was to run and maintain my teams forecasting file, which included sales data for the whole quarter. Moreover, I was also given the responsibility of presenting this at times to managers. Other responsibilities included liaising with customers in the customer success department and supporting my team in account planning meetings through taking notes.

  • I received a lot of support and guidance from the previous intern before me when being trained during the first month of my placement. I also received support from some members of my team too.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture was very welcoming and kind. Unfortunately I was not able to experience office atmosphere due to the pandemic.

  • Overall I enjoyed my placement and have learnt so many new skills. I have also made great connections and have massively increased my knowledge of the software industry.

  • Make sure you are passionate about software and the role you are applying for. There are a range of opportunities when joining SAP so make the most of them all!
