Overview
My role required shadowing both the planner and engineer responisibilites. Completing the data analysis of the warehouse performance for the alst 24 hours as well as analysing engineer shifts performances depending on certain KPI's. My role required me to get involved in engineering projects where I gain valuable experience working among senior engineers.
Skills
I have vastly improved my data analysis and Excel skills. I have improved my programming skills by working on real-life industry problems. I have improved my electrical and mechanical skills by using the theoretical knowledge I've gained from university and applying it on various machines around the site. I've improved my soft skills such as communication, teamwork and work ethic by working in a dynamic and encouraging work environment.
Responsibilities
I've been given critical responsibilities in our department. I was responsible of the reporting of our warehouse / engineers performances for the last 24 hours as well as increasing the efficiency of certain parts of our warehouse by analysing data and taking appropriate actions to reduce downtime.
Support & Guidance
I've received full support from my line manager and the other people in the work place. My questions and concerns were always addressed.
Culture
The work environment was friendly, encouraging and dynamic. Everyone were eager to help each other whenever necessary. Felt like a part of the family.
Your Impressions
I've enjoyed my placement very much. I've gained critical experience and had fun at the same time. Would recommend it to everyone looking to learn about the distribution & logistics in PepsiCo.
