    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • This role involves attending meetings with your engagement team and/or client and filling out the standardised Audit excel documents that complete relevant EGAs (evidence gathering activities) such as substantive analytics, test of details and so on. These EGAs differ for the relevant FSLIs (financial statement line items). In order to fill out some of these EGAs you have to use the client invoices, bills, bank statements and so on in order to corroborate the testing.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt several new skills such as how to use new platforms like Aura, Connect and so on. I have developed my abilities on Excel such as how to attach links correctly. Furthermore, I have developed my ability to write professional emails. Overall this experience has been very enriching and a very good way to spend the start of my summer.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given plenty of responsibility from the beginning, for example I was given a whole Financial statement line to complete. Even though I was given responsibility the guidance throughout was incredible and I never felt overwhelmed, and knew I could go to my team with any question and not have it deemed as a 'silly' question.
