Overview
I worked as part of the global learning team in the supply chain sector, specifically partnering with Engineering and supporting manufacturing. With technology changing and processes becoming more efficient and sustainable, my role is to create resources, training and run events to develop our people and ensure they are future fit. I would work with experts in different fields to create what was needed.
Skills
Working in global teams has meant that I have needed to adapt to a new way of communicating as this is not face to face contact. I have utilised new digital tools to do this e.g MS Teams, outlook. I needed to ensure that on calls the agenda and actions were clear. I developed my stakeholder management skills greatly and widened my network of connections.
Responsibilities
I led several projects and delivered many workshops and events. In my role I would project manage the development of various training programmes and live sessions to support the supply chain strategies.
Support & Guidance
My team were incredibly supportive, they were all very patient and willing to answer my questions. My line manager in particular was a great person to learn from as she would help me approach new projects by offering advice of how she would approach them.
Culture
Unfortunately due to covid I was unable to be in the office and on site but just from the virtual experience I had I knew this was a company that really cared about it’s employees and had a great vibe. Everyone thought of alternative ways on MS teams etc to connect on a personal level and celebrate special occasions which was lovely!
Your Impressions
I highly enjoyed my time in the company to the point where I have decided to apply for the graduate scheme as I know it’s a company I’d like to stay with.
