Overview
The insight day was two and a half hours that consisted of tasks from MUFG employees, intimate networking sessions and a Q&A panel session with senior associates.
Skills
I have learned a lot about the company itself as well as the skills required to make a successful application.
Business Insight
It was very exciting because I really felt as though the business was suitable for me in terms of the company culture. There were multiple routes into the company which were intriguing and, for me, it is definitely worthy of an application.
Culture
The company had a very relaxed atmosphere relative to other banks. The hours seemed to not be as long and the general treatment of colleagues appeared to be a lot healthier. Employees from MUFG said this was due to the bank’s roots as a Japanese bank with the concept of respect being pivotal.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed learning about the culture and the opportunities at the company itself as everything I heard was very positive in itself. It would’ve have been even better if the experience was in person which is my only criticism.
Yes
To network with employees at the firm and find out about the culture and whether it is right for you. This is by no means a typical investment bank and so it is worth getting that insight before applying.
