  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

    • The vacation scheme involved a series of talks from each of the practice areas, along with research tasks that we had to complete. It also involved more informal social events.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

    • It was informative to gain a wider insight into the different practice areas. As someone who came from a non-legal background, I felt that the vacation scheme was more suited to people who had already gained legal experience.

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

    • The company culture was very friendly and helpful. Everyone was very willing to answer follow up questions and hand out emails for follow up discussions.

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I enjoyed it a lot. Had I had more legal experience, I think I would have got more out of the scheme. Many of the tasks we were asked to do presupposed that you had already studied law, and were difficult to complete if you had'nt done do.

    • I would advise others to apply to Gateley Legal if they had already studied law. On the vacation scheme, I would recommend that they talk to as many people as possible and be proactive.
