Overview
This role includes supporting the team with various different tasks & project both in the hardware and software field. The day to day activities include customer issue replication, building and supporting Intel reference designs and providing lab support to the team. There is also scope for getting involved in other exciting projects outside of day-to-day responsibilities.
Skills
Yes, Intel's goal for interns is to help in further developing their existing skills or develop new ones. There is a lot of space for growth during this internship, you can take part in 'Learning Day' seminars which focus on different technology topics and aim to enhance your knowledge & skills on each topic. There is also the Intel Learning Network that offers a lot of Intel developed courses you can take.
Responsibilities
Yes, from the very start I was given a project by a manager from an Intel Branch at the United States with a strict deadline that I had to plan out, develop and deliver which I thought was a huge responsibility to give to an intern that had just started a few months ago but I was very happy they did do that! In general I did have a lot of responsibility in my tasks.
Support & Guidance
In the beginning of the internship, due to the covid-19 circumstances, I wasn't given much support of guidance but I believe it was only because everyone was trying to adjust to the new way of work because halfway things started to change and I was given a lot of support and guidance by my manager and my team members which helped me feel more confident in my work and provide better results.
Culture
Very friendly and wholesome atmosphere, was able to blend in and make friends just fine! The company culture is very welcoming and inclusive and I wish I got more chances to work in-person with my team.
Your Impressions
I did highly enjoy my placement, I gained a lot of new knowledge and skills as well as a lot of great connections and friends! Would recommend to anyone who is considering applying for this role to do it, you will not regret it. Even in these bizarre circumstances Intel Corp. was a great place to work for!
