Overview
Spend time in development sessions, networking with other people, participating in a sustainability based business project and also raising some money from charity. Each day is very varied and time is well structured so that you are able to spend sufficient time on all activities. Placement days involve producing pieces of work and applying the skills learnt in the development sessions.
Skills
Lots. We have lots of sessions each week where we learn new things. From how to manage our stakeholders to presentations skills. We also have two talks a week from people who tell us about their specialist area in the business so we get exposure to different departments which we aren't in during placement time.
Responsibilities
I have been given lots of responsibility. During my time here I have been able to run one of my placement projects. Furthermore, the business project enables us to manage our on time and run something on our own time.
Support & Guidance
Everyone within the company have been so helpful. I was provided with a strong network of people that I could contact if I needed help. This network involved my placement manager and my buddy.
Culture
The culture is very optimistic and helpful. I have found that everyone is more than willing to spend time with me talking about their role and helping me with some of my projects.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement. It has proved to be a real challenge which has helped me to grow and develop. It has been an amazing opportunity.
Yes
I would tell them to have a proper think about which business area they would like to apply to. Make sure that they are taking the time to properly research Natwest before doing any assessments. During the assessment be open minded and confidence and remember that they want you to succeed just as much as you!
