Overview
The virtual internship has been split up into different sessions and work. 2 days a week I am on placement in my finance tem carrying out work for my line manager. The rest of the time is split between a business project, which is a presentation with other finance interns, a CSR project, which is a fundraising activity, and then sessions like speaker events, social events, and sessions on NatWest group as a bank.
Skills
The internship has helped me improve communication, analytical, confidence, and other key skills involved in remote working.
Responsibilities
The reduced days on placement has perhaps meant that so far I have not had as much responsibility as I first desired. However, I have still been given responsibility from my line manager on various tasks.
Support & Guidance
Regular meetings and catch ups on zoom has meant that I received a lot of support and guidance. There has also been consistent and high quality support and guidance at any point in the day and during the internship.
Culture
NatWest group has a great culture and purpose. The bank is really challenging climate and its purpose going forward which has been very encouraging to see.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship and is NatWest is somewhere I would be interested in working at in the future. To conduct a virtual internship must have been a difficult thing to plan and create, I feel as though NatWest have offered lots of opportunities and have planned the whole thing very well.
Yes
Have an in depth look into how NatWest is a purpose led bank and look into their passion for CPC's. Use these CPC's during your application and look at how you can link your experiences to them.
