Overview
In an average day I will have a short meeting with my manager or buddy they ensure I have everything I need for the day and resolve blockers. I will then go about my tasks ensuring I complete any work required. I will also attend scheduled meetings and also take time to develop myself with sessions on skills.
Skills
Yes, I have learned technical skills such as working with pipelines and go to live plans. As well as developed social skills like confidence organisation, effective questioning and handling stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Yes I would say too much for an intern as the project was large and little guidance was provided on how this should be conducted
Support & Guidance
I received guidance but not for the right things. I think too much knowledge was assumed from us as interns which often left me overwhelmed
Culture
Very people focussed, always keen to do the right thing to support. Also supportive and not judgemental. Open to helping interns be the best version of themselves.
Your Impressions
Whilst I enjoyed the internship I feeI It may have not been the best fit for myself. Great opportunity and experience for someone looking to get industry experience in a large company such as NatWest with lots of purpose led sessions, wellbeing and development sessions.
Yes
Dont hesitate to apply it is very competitive, research the bank, its history and resources and if successful make every opportunity to learn as much as you can.
