Overview
For the first week it was mainly introduction sessions, getting to know the ropes of the business. From the second week onwards i had the opportunity to shadow numerous members of many different tax teams, being given new work everyday and being directly involved in many client calls.
Skills
I developed my group work skills, leadership skills, presenting and collection of information skills as well as direct communication skills. I learnt to analyse vast amounts of technical information as well as utilise the knowledge of my associates around me to make my working easier.
Responsibilities
For most projects i was working on the final copy before it was sent to the client. Additionally my changes were all permanent so it was very important that i got it right first time and didn't make any mistakes.
Support & Guidance
I had a buddy and a career coach who were available all the time as well as regular face to face meetings with them. It was a great set-up
Culture
Everyone was extremely friendly and anyone you messages was always prompt and polite when replying to your query. They even went above and beyond by including me in meetings and finding me work.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed the internship, its been very insightful and has been a great opportunity to develop my skills.
Yes
Be yourself, be polite, and get involved! Don't be afraid to ask questions!
