Overview
Process any opportunities that come into the team by speaking to the ASM that has submitted the request and figure out next steps. Produce weekly reports, take weekly calls presenting data, shadowing and then training the replacement intern in the final month of the year.
Skills
Microsoft excel improved hugely as well as Salesforce knowledge. Not only these computer skills but presenting, teamworking, problem solving and time management are key parts of the role. HPE also have a large focus on balancing your work and personal life with plenty of wellness and skills development time.
Responsibilities
You are well integrated into the business and although sometimes it doesn't seem like much on paper, if you are not to fulfil your role then a replacement would be needed. Interns are given an actual role at the company for the year and not put on a separate course etc, thus giving a real world experience of how a global organisation operates.
Support & Guidance
Everyone is very approachable and willing to help you settle in, not only this but the intern community and the peers that run this are very caring and dedicated to help you get the best of your placement year and look to the future to help with your career prospects.
Culture
Very friendly and personable, it goes a long way to be yourself. There are plenty of social events, mostly on a weekly basis, and trainings involving diversity, charity and sports.
Your Impressions
I would love to join the company after I have finished my degree as they are caring for their employees and this is shown by the general culture and well-being of the company. It does meet the initial expectations despite doing the majority of the placement remotely too, still managed to use the brand new office space they have just opened up.
Yes
Be yourself, don't be afraid to ask questions and most of all show your initiative. Common sense is noticeable amongst applicants, the more switched on and astute you are to your tasks the better that will repay you.
