Overview
The internship was split into two sections: placement days and bank-wide days. Placement days (Tues & Thurs) were really exciting - offering hands-on learning, training and occasionally client interactions. A line-manager oversees your workload and you are brought into a regional team - I felt extremely welcome. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays were dedicated to speaker sessions, development sessions and two group projects. The projects give you both an opportunity to raise money for charity and to create a matrix for change in the way that the Group approaches a subject area e.g., sustainability
Skills
- How to interact with clients - How to price assets - How to manage time and work - How to analyse a company and create a profile for them
Business Insight
Very helpful. An emphasis on staying connected around the bank meant we were exposed to interns and employees from all sections of the company. Keeping connected with them allows one to understand their roles.
Culture
It was a very friendly environment where you are encouraged to learn and contribute.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Yes
If your views align with those of the banks then I encourage you to voice that in your cover letter and interviews.
