Overview
I have been completing my placement within Planning and Performance placement. My day-to-day tasks have been more focused on the ESG and climate side, aiding with the reporting for half and full year as well as doing some peer analysis
Skills
I think the structure of this internship has enabled me to upskill in various different areas. From both the collaborative and placement projects, I've had development opportunities in networking, collaboration, research and modelling.
Responsibilities
I felt comfortable with both the responsibility of work that I was given and how it built up overtime as I became more used to the my day to day activities. I particularly felt satisfied with the contributions I made towards half year reporting and in peer analysis/ research.
Support & Guidance
I have to say that I could not have met a nicer team who were always willing to take the time out to explain my tasks thoroughly, answer any questions I had and provide advice on how I should approach my work. Even their willingness to pass me onto other people who were more informed was really nice too
Culture
The culture and atmosphere was even better than I could have expected even give the difficult circumstances of remote learning. I have always had kind, informative, open and welcoming interactions with everyone I've had the pleasure of speaking to within the bank. You can really tell how much being a relationship banks driven by its purpose means to them both internally and externally
Your Impressions
I didn't know what to expect going into this opportunity particularly with it being online but I can say that I will come out of it completely satisfied with the understanding I've gained and people I've had the chance to speak to. I am appreciative of the effort they've put into this to replicate the experience of it being in person because it has been a lot of fun
Yes
I think it's very key to have an understanding of the culture NatWest has and is also trying to move towards. The values they have described in the communication on their website is very much applied internally so having a grasp of that will put you in a very good position
