Overview
Liaising with buyers and internal stakeholders to give impartial advice on the skin cleansing category. Being a category expert to spot trends and new entrants and opportunities in the market.
Skills
I have learnt have to liaise with buyers and internal stakeholders. Presenting is a huge part of the role which I have improved on significantly. Excel is used every day within this role and I have developed my skills extensively.
Responsibilities
Giving a significant amount of responsibility as I had my own retailers to individually deal with and influence without the input of a line manager etc.
Support & Guidance
A significant amount of support from my line manager and team all together. Other excellent help channels available if needed.
Culture
The culture could not be faulted. It was the main reason I came to Unilever and I was not disappointed. From summer hours and well-being Wednesdays, the company couldn’t do any more to help you with your mental health. The atmosphere was amazing with people constantly encouraging you and being happy to mentor you in your journey to improvement.
Your Impressions
Although I worked from home all of my placement year I really enjoyed getting to know other professionals in the business and exploring their journey into the company. I enjoyed seeing how a multi national consumer good company worked in the day to day life and what goes into a company like Unilever.
Yes
Always be yourself and be genuine.
