    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • A mixture of live talks run by PwC and audit training sessions to begin with, followed by client work. Client work can range from sitting in on client meetings to performing audit tasks on Excel etc.

  • I developed team working skills working alongside other interns and senior team members which also improved my confidence. I have also learnt a lot, especially about audit processes and financial statements.

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, I was given audit tasks to complete by myself but was given a lot of guidance and team members were always available to answer questions when I had them.

  • I received a lot of guidance and support. I was allocated a Career Coach and a Buddy at the beginning of the internship, both of which were very helpful throughout and frequently put aside time to meet with me and answer any questions I had.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Everyone was very nice and created a positive environment. There is a hard working culture but there is a lot of support.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the placement. I was given plenty of work, responsibility and guidance. PwC also offered events outside of the work day which were enjoyable. Some of the work I was given was quite basic at times but this is all I expected coming in to the internship.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to PwC
  • Spend time researching PwC before applying so that you understand the company, their values and their purpose. If you get the job, you'll get a lot out of it if you put a lot in, and the effort is worthwhile since you can be offered a graduate job after.
