Overview
Daily work is split between a fixed routine of tasks that you are expected to complete along with supporting management to meet any needs they request.
Skills
Some skills were enhanced, such as excel skills (it's really crucial to have a sound understanding of excel at JLR).
Responsibilities
You are given autonomy to work and get on with tasks, although this does vary from department to department.
Support & Guidance
The Early Careers team do not allow you to move department once you are assigned, note that this process is random and the manager interviewing you is the department you are likely to work within.
Culture
The atmosphere is generally okay - working from home has meant that I have not interacted with anyone other than my team.
Your Impressions
Overall it is certainly a good idea to do a placement; at JLR you can expect to have a decent experience. Some work may be repetitive and mellow, but it is our starting point of our careers. Although I must note - grad schemes are not guaranteed after the placement!
Yes
- Be confident - Be open to learning new excel skills - Strive to exceed expectations
