    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I co-ordinate updates on the national website, working with a number of stakeholders to ensure that the most up to date information is on the website ready for customers to use in their purchasing journeys. I work with a number of stakeholders, developing content briefs that they use to update the website. I also regularly audit the website for outdated content and provide insight into what content is working well.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt a number of new skills whilst working in the team. I have developed my auditing skills, looking for outdated or incorrect information. I have also learnt about content briefing and how to apply this to the tone of voice and brand guidelines we have. I have also had the chance to undertake an SEO course allowing me to have a greater insight into its importance and role in digital marketing.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement and had the opportunity to take ownership of projects. This was very beneficial to me as I was able to input my work into the business and make a difference to a number of stakeholders which was very fulfilling. I also had the autonomy to run key business meetings and answer queries which I feel has been a great responsibility to have.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I have been give lots of support and guidance throughout my placement. I feel comfortable reaching out to my manager and others to ask questions and support when I need it. I have also been able to reach out support for my wellbeing through the lockdowns and know who to contact when I need additional help.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture is so inclusive, everyone is respected and opinions valued. I have been able to enjoy working with a number of different people who have all been good to work with. There is a strong push towards personal development which has allowed me to gain in confidence and skills.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I hugely enjoyed my placement. I had many opportunities to work on various projects that have been very varied. I have also been able to meet and work with a number of different people from across the business. I've worked in a very dynamic and fast paced team and have enjoyed the relationships that I gave formed with my team.

  • Do your research about the company but don't worry if you don't have an extensive automotive knowledge. Have an understanding of your strengths and weaknesses and be aware of how you can contribute to a team. Be personable and always willing to help.
