Overview
Assisting with department processes. Running interdepartmental meetings involving plant directors. Managing prototype vehicle fleet and recycling process of vehicles at end of use. Running/assisting/managing additional projects improving processes for the department and others within the plant.
Skills
People management Communication Virtual and In Person Networking Time management Analysis IT DAX Coding Software knowledge
Responsibilities
Yes with tasks not critical to running of the business.
Support & Guidance
Support and guidance from within my department, senior members teaching and advising helped develop my skills. Outside of the department support is non existent.
Culture
Old fashioned culture, new software/ideas take huge amounts of time/money/effort to be rolled out, often becoming redundant by the time they reach the employees. Culture does not promote ambition and hard work, it is easy to get noticed for going above and beyond, however this recognition does not translate to rewards or opportunities for promotion.
Your Impressions
Very enjoyable learning experience. The work itself is 90% admin and uninteresting topics that others do not want/ have the time to do themselves. Learning and understanding the wider work going on within the company and the plant was very good.
Yes
Don't expect to find a smooth running company with all processes running to maximum efficiency. Due to its size and age there is too much to improve and not enough capacity to improve it. Make the most of every opportunity to see other parts of the business outside of your department/role.
