Overview
Mornings were usually lots of talks from various people about a huge range of topics, such as life at EY itself, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing, and personal brand. The afternoons were mostly spent working on a case study as part of a group, which we then did an assessed presentation on in the final week.
Skills
I have learned a lot about personal brand, emotional intelligence, the importance of wellbeing, how to present effectively to a professional audience, and how to take teamwork to the next level to become a highest performing team. Through working on the case study, I've developed my team working, listening, leading, creative, and presenting skills.
Business Insight
There were lots of different speeches explaining different aspects of the business and what the various service lines do. As well as this, we were also given many opportunities to ask questions to the people working at EY, so this was a really good way to learn more about the career path.
Culture
I thought it would be difficult to assess the atmosphere given that the internship was virtual, but all the people were so friendly! The atmosphere was always very positive and welcoming, and all employees spoke about how much they loved the friendly culture of the workplace and working with others.
Your Impressions
I absolutely loved it - I wish it could have been longer than two weeks! I learned so much more than I thought I would, and I was really grateful for all the opportunities I had to ask questions. I also really enjoyed the case study, which was an excellent way of developing analytical and teamworking skills. The fun activities arranged on the fridays were also really enjoyable!
Yes
EY are a people business, so be yourself! If you are unsure if you would be a good fit, look at the company's core values on their website, because these are truly embodied within the employees.
