Overview
Each day started at 9:30 and was broken into individual sessions with presentations, training, networking, or a group project. There was also some training specific to whichever stream you applied for on two of the days. The day ended around 3:30 or 4 usually.
Skills
I learned some basic information about auditing/accounting. There was some training like personal branding and personal development that I personally did not find very relevant.
Business Insight
It was useful to get a look into what auditing and BDO in general are like before potentially committing to a graduate role.
Culture
Everyone seemed nice and seemed to enjoy working for BDO. The higher-up people seemed pretty relaxed and happy to answer questions.
Your Impressions
The week was tiring but I'm glad I did it.
Yes
Learn about the culture/values, as well as BDO's COVID response. Don't feel pressured to apply for a role if you are not interested in this sector, but doing the insight week is a good way to get more of an idea if you want to have this kind of job in the future.
