    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Speaking to wider areas of the bank about issues they face and coming up with solutions as to how to fix these processes, both internally and externally. Lots of Zoom calls with people and independent project work.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes - being given a good level of responsibility so far. Am being brought up to speed on projects before being handed them to work on, helping me to network and use my intuition, whilst being supported throughout it all.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Had a buddy scheme with a graduate, and two hour calls with them a week to ask any questions we needed, or to job shadow them, and have general chat. Also had line manager with 5 calls a week, to cover training, anything I'm unsure of, and action plan and tasks for the week. Very much feeling supported.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Such good company culture, everyone is so supportive and so willing to give time to the interns which surprised me. Seems like such a good company to work for, genuinely caring about every colleague.

  • I think the biggest thing would be to be yourself throughout the whole process, because you'll only be a good fit in company culture if you're accepted for being yourself. Be personable and friendly, and try to enjoy the process rather than feeling nervous for it.
