Overview
Started with a week long induction and then a 3 week department placement. During the placement I worked with a team - completing worksheets and tasks for them regarding the clients we were working with. Throughout the 4 week vacation scheme I also had to complete lots of training and mandatory learning sections.
Skills
Professional communcation, in both writing and verbal. Commercial awareness regarding the company and the Auditing services. Developed excel and computer skills.
Business Insight
Very interesting, the scheme really helped you to understand the work ethos and environment at the firm. They made sure to ensure that all particpants were informed about the grad job process and the vacation scheme itself.
Culture
Given it was a completely virtual scheme it is slighlty harder to gage. However there were many opportunities made available to us so that we could get to know the company and co-workers, such as group projects, mindfulness sessions. We were taught about the companys network opportunities, charity work and social events.
Your Impressions
I am really enjoying the scheme so far, it is meeting all of my expectatoins and more. I have been given work straight away and am constantly busy. Would certainly consider a grad job.
Yes
Be yourself. KPMG has an inclusive and welcoming culture but it does value trust and work ethic, ensure you demonstrate what you believe in. There's no point in faking your values as you wont enjoy the experience if you don't agree with the company's values.
