Overview
Three days a week consist of working on two group projects, one being a Business project and the other a Corporate Social Responsibility project. Those days also contain several development sessions and opportunities to network. The other two days are spent on placement in a team within the company.
Skills
I have definitely developed my networking skills as there's plenty of opportunities to connect with people. I have also acquired lots more banking knowledge that I didn't know before which will be useful for the future.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of exposure to several businesses which I found very insightful. The group projects involved lots of responsibility as we were set off to complete these projects by ourselves. It did involve some elements of shadowing others but I didn't mind this since it is how you can learn.
Support & Guidance
There was always several options for who I could go to if I needed help with something and anyone I asked always seemed willing. I got to know several members of my wider team who all had expertise in different departments so it was very useful.
Culture
There is a great sense of belonging for everyone in the company. There is something for everyone and everyone can get involved somehow. Several social events are held so that you can get to meet even more people which is nice.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed every aspect of my placement. It is a very inclusive company and surpassed my expectations. I thought it was great the level of independence and teamwork that was involved too.
Yes
I think for the assessment centre you should find a part of the companies culture that you are extremely passionate about so that you have plenty to talk about and show good motivation.
