Overview
There are 3 main things I have done on a day-to-day basis. Firstly, collect and analyse data using Microsoft Power BI to help improve our services. Secondly, help to build and test a chatbot to reduce the number of calls to our call centres. Thirdly, automate processes within Customer Tech. e.g making data refreshing automatic instead of having to do it manually.
Skills
I have learnt lots of skills within the Microsoft framework, including Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate. I have also continued to develop my coding skills, learning SQL and some JavaScript. Regarding soft skills, I have improved both my solo presentation skills and my team presentation skills, with plenty of opportunity to do both.
Responsibilities
Yes. Since you are placed to work in a team, you are given important tasks that make a real difference to the team's current projects.
Support & Guidance
The HR department were always there to ask any questions. Within my team, I would catch up with my manager every other day on average to discuss what I'd been doing and what the next steps were. Furthermore, we were assigned two buddies from the Graduate scheme who had been through the same process as us and could answer any questions. We caught up with them weekly.
Culture
The culture is very good. Everyone is very approachable no matter how senior they are, and they will always find time to speak to you if you have any questions. There are also plenty of social opportunities inside and outside of work.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed my placement. It was the perfect mix of learning new things, meeting new people, and doing meaningful work.
Yes
Do your research on the culture and initiatives happening within the company before your assessment centre. It gives you something to talk about and shows that you are interested and engaged in the company.
