Overview
I had an opportunity to conduct research and help draft documents for the firm on a daily basis. I was also able to observe how the firm operated and learn more about the legal industry.
Skills
The vacation scheme taught me how to think about the wider commercial picture while completing tasks and to communicate in a clear and effective manner.
Business Insight
It was really interesting to get an inside look into how law firms operate as businesses and add commercial value to its clients. This exposed me to a wide variety of roles which help to contribute to the firm in various ways, which was an eye opening experience.
Culture
HSF has an incredibly welcoming and supportive culture that helps its people feel supported, enabling them to maximise their potential. It is also a great environment to work in because your colleagues are very friendly and helpful, creating fun and cohesive working relationships with a high level of trust.
Your Impressions
HSF's vacation scheme went far above my expectations with regards to engagement and enjoyment. Being able to work in a supportive and inclusive environment helped me to really engage with the work and contribute in a meaningful way. Beyond that, the people at HSF are all incredibly nice and willing to get to know you on a personal level.
Yes
HSF really values people as individuals so just do your best to show your personality through your application and during your interview. It's also important to demonstrate a genuine interest in the firm and show an understanding of why HSF is different to other firms.
