    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The role consists of interesting responsibilities including advising clients for best investment strategies and assisting the client to choose the best investment manager. A typical week starts by organising the tasks that need to be completed during the upcoming week. Work includes preparing performance monitoring reports, asset transfers, and drafting presentations for a strategy review and strategy suggestions. The work load is balanced and additions and reductions are made considering to ensure a balance.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Yes, I have learnt a variety of new skills during my internship. It includes getting an experience of inhouse modelling tools of LCP Visualise and LCP Monitor. Adhering to the standards and giving attention to details forms a crucial part of the job. Moreover, I got the opportunity to sharpen my Microsoft office skills to deliver the projects on time.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes the responsibility was divided among the projects assigned for the new interns and a few work related to the client. The projects included training over specific subjects in order to equip us with specific knowledge and skill set to be considered. Further, the client work gave us an idea regarding what needs to be communication with client and how to ensure that the assigned work is completed within a given period of time.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • We were assigned two buddies to ensure that we get sufficient guidance and mentorship throughout our project. This included weekly meetings with the mentors to get there timely feedback over the projects assigned. Everyone in the firm is friendly enough to devote their time and help each other. Even the work load is shared and extra mile of help were offered during each part of mentorship.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • There is indeed a very friendly and loving atmosphere in the company. The seniors and managers are always willing to help and provide mentor ship whenever necessary. Mistakes made are acceptable at all levels and the atmosphere helps to learn and help each other at all stages during the internship experience. Really lucky to be a part of such a company which has great values and people ready to help at all the times

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Honestly, I loved my internship experience.Even if the internship was totally virtual conducted via Microsoft team meetings, there was never a point where I thought to be excluded from the team. The internship is structured in an amazing way including a blend of both projects and client work which helps us to get a wide exposure of all the activities . The coffee breaks in our calendar helped us to connect with interns.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Lane Clark & Peacock
  • Try to be yourself during the entire interview process. People are friendly and willing to help each other during the process. If you face any technical issues, make sure to communicate those so that appropriate adjustments can be made during relevant point of time. Try to read the website as much as possible and connect with existing interns and analysts to know more about their experience. I wish you best of luck!
