    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • The two week summer scheme allowed you get a better understanding of what working within that team as a graduate would be like alongside understanding more about the business and it's culture. On a day-to-day basis I was involved in sourcing comparables, helping draft valuation reports, inspecting sites and producing marketing information about upcoming sites.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed a better understanding of the valuation process as well as the importance of having a strong valuation skill set as a surveyor. Alongside this, I have developed my report writing skills and learnt of the difference in style and tone that is required for a professional report in comparison to an academic report.

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed summer scheme, the only down side was that there were limited social occasions to get to understand the team on a more personal level - this was no fault of the business just unfortunate timing with the virus.
